Thats so cool, I go there now! There's still tar in the water and all over the sand.. We use vegetable oil to get it off cause it works really well. But no the water isn't very warm. Warmer than northern california though!

I remember I. V. ! I went to UCSB in 1973. The beach was full of black tar then. We had huge buckets of mineral spirits in all the dorm bathrooms so we could clean our feet after walking on the beach. The pollution came from offshore oil wells.
